Light & Tasty Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

While many are familiar with fettuccine, ravioli, and tortellini noodles, most might not immediately recognize the unique kluski noodle. Kluski (pronounced /'klu.ski/) noodles are traditionally thicker, denser egg noodles than other types of pasta. They typically appear in lengths ranging from one inch to around four inches, and because of their greater relative thickness, they are frequently chewier than their commercial counterparts.

Although these noodles are believed to have originated in Polish culture, they are often associated, nevertheless, with Amish cuisine. As a result of this association, these noodles are frequently purchased in dried form throughout Amish country. Kluski noodles are also often packaged in fresh or frozen form, and they can easily be made at home without any special pasta-making machinery.

Because of this pasta's versatility and width, these noodles are often recommended for, among other pasta dishes, soups and casseroles. One classic use for kluski noodles is in homemade chicken noodle soup. One supplier located in Northeast Ohio, Mrs. Miller's Noodles, provides a perfect homemade Chicken Noodle Soup recipe that calls for its very own all-natural kluski noodles.
